But before you can build that home base, you need to own some land. In Internet terms, that means registering and owning a domain name.

The first part of this free webinar will focus on why it’s important to register a domain name for your personal website. There are lots of free services that will allow you to build a site on their domain. We’ll discuss the drawbacks of putting your eggs in those particular baskets.
How to Register a Domain
The second part of the webinar will talk specifically about how you can go about securing your domain name. Unless you’re pretty fortunate (and/or have a very uncommon name), your name is probably not available. We’ll cover some workarounds for that situation and walk step-by-step through the registration process.
